Certainly one of my tasks in my own school artwork type was to see an art form gallery and arrange an analysis of the gallery along with to pick one artist’s perform which is on display. That little painting is less than two feet by three legs, but packages an abundance of artistic skills in their little package. It rests on the wall with other works from Eberlie’s collection of art. The only identifying information for the art work is a small card mounted on the wall revealing the artist’s name. I was pushed to do additional research in order to recognize the artwork correctly and position a specific name upon it.
Much like keeping with the artist’s practice of simplicity we see bright sand based against a receding sun. The horizon is obviously shown, suggesting by both color and mild that evening has approached. The night of the seat in the foreground reveals not just a measure of shadow but a sharp comparison contrary to the light shades of the painting. As we look at “Sunset Bay” we realize how usually we have been in this particular world without appreciating the total influence of what we were seeing. I’ve often taken my own, personal flip lawn chair and visited the coastal villages across the Delaware shore and sat smoothly at the edge of the sea playing the dunes and reading the gulls above while watching the remote sunlight decrease gradually beyond the horizon.
